BUSINESS DURING MARCH The following particulars of the Dominion loan transactions of the Public Trust Office and new business reported during the month ended March 31, 1927, have been supplied by the Prime Minister:— The amount paid out in settlement of new loans was £193,470, making a total of £2,494,445 since the beginning of the financial year, which commenced on April 1, 1926. Further new loans amounting to £202,205 were granted, bringing the total of new loans on hand awaiting completion to £572,303, to which must be added the offers made of loans less than the full amounts applied for. These amount to £183,155, making a grand total of £755,458. There arc also applications on hand for additional loans amounting to £359,631. The value of the new estates accepted for administration was £536,210, and this brings the total new estates business for the year to £5,551,019 —an amount exceeding the previous year’s total by £899,572. The figures arc a record in the history of the office. A further 488 wills were deposited for safe custody by living testators, making the total now held 53,531.
