THE FEILDING SALL YESTERDAY’S PRICES AND CONDITIONS. [Per Press Association.] FEILDING, April 29. There, was a small yarding of sheep of inferior quality at the Foilding stock sale to-day, and with the exception of a pen of good ewe lambs, which was keenly competed for, prices were on a par with late sales. Four and five-year ewes brought J3s 2d to 19s; f. and* f. ewes 13s 2d to 16s 8d; b.f. lambs Us 3d to 15s; wether lambs 23s 3d, 23s 6d; two, four and sixtooth ewes r.w. s.d. rams, 12s 6d to 23s 3d; fat lambs, 19s to 20s; fat wethers, 19s to 23s 8d; empty ewes, 9s 3d; fat wethers 21s. There was a good yarding of cattle, mainly stores. Fat cattle were yarded in very small quantities and sold at late rates. Store cattle showed an advance on late sales, nearly all the offering being sold at auction. Values were: 2i-year S.H. heifers, £2 13s; 18-months S.H. heifers, £2 10s; cows and calves, £3 6s; empty 18-months Hereford P.A. cross heifers, £2; 3j-ycar f. and f. bullocks, £6; good conditioned 2A-year Hercfored steers, £6 Is; ditto 2|-year P.A. steers, £6 Is; good Hereford cows r.w. P.A. bull, £3 2s; low-conditioned S.H. cows r.w. P.A. bull, £2 18s; 18months Hereford heifers, 345; ditto steers £2 17s; P.A. steers, £3 3s.

TAIHAPE SALES AGENTS’ REPORTS lhe New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Ltd., report: At the Taihapo sale on Wednesday we had an entry of about 4000 sheep and a medium yarding of cattle. The majority of sheep yarded consisted of Mmbs, and to a good attendance of buyers, these met with a brisk sale, the whole of the yarding being sold at prices in aidjvance of vendors’ expectations. We quote: 4 and 6-tooth ewes (few over 6-tooth), r.w. Romney rains, 24s 6d; 4 and 5-year ditto, I6s; culls, 12s Id; medium ewe lambs. 16s. 16s 9d; smaller ditto woolly, 14s lOd, culls, 9s; wether woolly lambs (fair), 13s 9d, 14s; shorn ditto, 10s 3d 1 ,, culls Bs, 8s 10d; 2-ycar P.A. steers. £4 14s; small ditto, £3 Is. Messrs Dalgety and Company, Ltd., (Palmerston North) report having held their fortnightly sale at Taihape on Wednesday, when a small yarding of sheep and cattle came forward. There was a good attendance of buyers, and all lines submitted were disposed of at the following prices. Quotations: F. and F. ewes, 15s lOd, b.f. lambs, 14s; small ewe lambs, 12s 4d; cull wether lambs, 4s 9d to 8s 2d; 18-months heifers (small), 355; 18-months steers, £2 18s; 21-year steers, £4 5s to £5 10s; 3A-ycar P.A. steers, £6 16s; 34-ycar S.H. steers, £6 10s to £6 12s 6d; f. and r. cows, £3 4s; fat cows, £4 Is. Abraham and Williams, Ltd., report that at Taihape on Wednesday they had a fair yanking of sheep and cattle which was submitted to a good attendance of buyers. Competition for lambs was keen but ewes m lamb were dull of sale, but practically a total clearance was effected. Quotations: S.D. lambs, small, 12s Id; wether lambs to 13s 9d; mixed lambs, 9s 2d to Us; 5-year ewes r.w. S.D. rams, 17s 8d; ewes r.w. Romney rams, 14s; light fat cows, £3 3s to £3 17s Gel; forward- cows £2; cows and calves, £3.

JOHNSONVILLE SALE BRISK BUSINESS REPORTED. Messrs Abraham and Williams, Ltd., and Wright, Stephenson and Co., Ltd., report on the Johnsonville sale, held on Wednesday, as follows:—A medium yarding of bullocks, sheep and lambs came forward. There was a good attendance of butchers and the sale was brisk throughout, prices being slightly better than previous sale. We quote: Bullocks, good, £ll to £ll 15s; fair, £lO, £lO 7s 6d, £lO 10s to £lO 15s; light, £8 12s 6d, £9 7s 6d to £9 10s; wethers, 245, 35s 4d, 25s 6d to 26s 6d; ewes, 16s 7d, 17s 3d to 17s 9d; lambs, 21s 3d, 22s sd, 23s 9d to 25s Gd; light cows, £3 ss, £3 7s 6d, £3 10s to £4 12s 6d.
