BILLIARDS

REECE’S BREAK ON THE WAY TO A RECORD. LONDON, April 29. Reece, in play, has scored 5223, and Peall 4405. Reece’s break, still unfinished, stood at 3156 when play closed. Reece has a chance of beating the spot stroke record of 3304 compiled in 1890 by Peall, father of his present opponent. 'The Da'dy Herald states that the real discoverer of the pendulum stroke was James Peperell, formerly billiards instructor at the London Polytechnic. He thought it out years ago and confided it to Claud Falkiner, who was unable to exploit it. Davis, in play, is 5334 and Newman 4913.
