CHOLERA

EPIDEMIC IN INDIA THOUSANDS OF DEATHS (A and N.Z.) DELHI, April 26. Bengal is in the grip of a grave cholera epidemic. Fifteen thousand deaths were- reported for tho quarter ended December. Tho position has not improved, and unless heavy rains wash away infection the Health Department’s estimate of 10,000 deaths this month will be greatly exceeded. Dozens of deaths are reported and whole villages have been decimated. In Calcutta the position is alarming The weekly returns show 200 cases.
