DEATH SWEPT ON
WARNING NOT HEARD TRAIN HITS MAN. SYDNEY, April 27. In full view of a flagman and others who waved and shouted frantically, and of the enginedriver, who blew the whistle continuously, Harry William Gorohon, 35, was struck by a train under the Newtown bridge and killed. Gorohan was an employee in the carpentering branch of the railways. He was walking through the Newtown bridge tunnel towards Redfern, but apparently did not hear the warnings. The brakes were applied on the train about 25 yards away. The body was taken from under the third carriage, after having been carried along on the cow-catcher for about, 80 yards. At the inquest at the Coroner’s Court to-day a verdict of accidental death was returned. The address of the dead man or the whereabouts of his relatives are unknown.
