DUKE IS “RAGGED” STUDENTS IN MERRY MOOD Received April 27, 11 p.m. (A and N.Z.) MELBOURNE, April 27. The Duke of York visited University, where the degree of Doctor of Laws was conferred on him. During the visit the students indulged in an amazing rag. They blocked the Duke’s path and lifted him bodily into a specially prepared carriage, m which a stalf of students dressed to represent every branch of naval, militayr religious and civil life. The carriage was then driven to an exaggerated representation of country life in the University grounds, where the Duke was presented with an address from the “country folk.” His Highness took the joke in gelid part and thoroughly entered into ths spirit of the rag.
