CROQUET

WANGANUI CLUB END OF SEASON The members of the Wanganui Croquet Club brought their season to a close on Saturday, Ajpril 23, with a very pleasant afternoon in their pavilion. Trophies were presented to the winners of the various competitions by Mrs T. Rhodes as follows: — Championship Singles (Rhodes Cup): Von. R. Creed Meredith; runner-up, Mrs Jarvie. Champinship Doubles: Mrs J. Blennerhassett and Mrs McDougal. Handicap singles: Mrs J. Blennerhassett. Handicap doubles: Mrs Skeet and Mrs Jarvie. Handicap doubles: A, JSlrs Jarvie (Mrs Rowlling’s trophy), B Mrs Lloyd (Mrs Ballingall’s trophy). Junior championship: Mrs H. Rowling; runner-up, Mrs M. Pauli. Junior handicap singles: Mrs Ballingall (Miss F. Paul’s trophy). Junior handicap doubles: Mrs F. Delves and Mrs Ballingall. Christmas tournament (Mrs Skect’s trophies): Ist, Mrs Jarvie, 2nd, Mrs W. Lawrie. Rhodes-Williams and Rudkin trophies: Mrs Rowling and Mrs Pauli. C. players (trophies presented by Mrs J. McFarlane): Ist, Mrs Simpson, 2nd., Miss F. Notman. After the distribution of the trophies presentations were made by the members of the club to the retiring secretary, Mrs A. Crawford, and to the re- ; tiring treasurer, Mrs W. Lawrie. A [ dainty afternoon tea was then dispensed and brought to a close a most enjoyable afternoon.
