It was farewelled by crowds at Paddington, and from there railway men, factory workers and townspeople lined the track for the whole distance, including thousands at Reading. One hundred thousand welcomed the team at Cardiff. The whole city was decorated with the club colours. All business and traffic was suspended from noon till the evening.
