RATANA MOREHU SPORTS A SUCCESSFUL GATHERING A large attendance of the public witnessed interesting events at the Ratana Morehu sports gathering on Saturday at Ratana pa. Runners from Wanganui were well represented but there were also numerous competitors from other district centres. The weather held good and the meeting was successful, while keen competition was in evidence, mure particularly in the sprint races. Results of the principal events are:— 100 Yards To Whaea Handicap.—C. Ledingham, 7 yards, 1; C. F. Maitland, 4yds, 2; E. Morgan, 9yds, 3. 220 Yards Handicap. —O. Maitland, 22yds, 1; C. F. Maitland, syds, 2. 440 Yards Handicap.—C. F. Maitland, 7yds, 1; C. Ledingham, 27yds, 2; E Morgan 34yds, 3. 880 Yards Handicap.—J. A. Pawson, 30yds, 1; W. E. Patten, 35yds, 2. One Mile Handicap.—R. J. Leith, 115 yds, 1; W. G. Denford, 145yds, 2; G. Moore, 130yds, 3.

NELSON MEETING WANGANUI REPRESENTATIVES. (Special to “Chronicle” NELSON, April 16. D. Adamson was first in the mile, second in the Nelson wheel race, second in the two mile handicap, third in the three mile handicap and third in tae five mile handicap. He wins the Newman *s points cup. Monigatti was second in putting the shot and second in the javelin throwing.
