SOLICITOR IN TROUBLE

STRUCK OFF ROLLS COURT OF APPEAL’S ORDER (Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, March 17. The Court of Appeal to-day dealt with cases of the Law Society of Messrs Wilfred Alec Black and John Munro Gillies. Mr Von Haast appeared for the Law Society and Mr Perry for Black. Gillies was not represented. The case of black was adjourned until March 23, pending the arrival of affidavits from Auckland. The facts alleged in Gillies case were that he failed to keep his trust account in order and received altogether a sum of over £5OO for his own use, being trust moneys. In one instance Gillies took over tho work for Benn from Irwin and Irwin, and collected £176 8s lid, which Benn instructed him to return to Irwin and Irwin. This was not done, though Gillies stated he had done so. Gillies was struck off the rolls of the Law Society and ordered to pay £l5 15s costs.
