DUTHIE CUP FINAL VICTORY GOES TO HUTT Much interest has been centred by bowling enthusiasts on the result of the Duthie Cup contest, games for which have been decided during the week. ! • \ Extremely favourable conditions prevailed for the contest, and the games were very keenly contested. On Wednesday afternoon, after an interesting game, the Hutt representatives retained the trophy by defeating the Wellington team by a margin of 14 points. The tournament was a successful one from every point of view.

FOR THE HURN CUP WANGANUI EAST’S SUCCESS The Wanganui East Club successfully defended the Hum Cup on the Wanganui East green yesterday afternoon against the Rapanui Club. Rapanui had the advantage in. the first portion of the game and at the finish of the .14th head they were 4 up on the board. On the 17th head, however, they had an advantage of only one pflint. The next head saw Scrivener (Wanganui East) score three, thus placing his rink two points ahead. At the finish of the 21st head, Wanganui East proved victors by four points. The following are the rinks and the scores (Rapanui being mentioned first): — A. Handley. B. S. Brown. T. Brown and B. Willis .15 v. Hutchins, Wakelin, H. G. Horsley and Scrivener 19. AROUND THE GREENS CONTESTS AT EAPANUI. At Rapanui to-morrow at 2.15 p.m. Rapanui Club will play Wanganui East Club. The following are the Rapanui ranks: — Low, Thomson, F. Brown, and Willis; Park, Russell, F. Handley and Johnson; Morrison, Billinghurst, A. Handley and Curtis; Bassett, Roberts, R. S. Brown and G. Handley. WANGANUI EAST TEAMS The Wanganui East Club’s rinks to play Rapanui Club are:— Holdaway, Willis, Morris and Anderson; Scrivener, Bolton, Vincent and Horsley Snr.; Horsley, Bamber. Lind, and Moorby; Hollis, Brittain, Gaunt and Laws. In the final full rinks, Martin, Bree, Carvell and Hutchins are to play Connell, McKessar, Redwood and Stewart. ST. JOHN’S FULL RINKS. To-morrow, the final round in the full ring competition of the St. John’s Club will be played. The draw is as under: — Kirkwood’s rink plays Herd’s rink; Gordon plays Hutchinson; Galbraith plays Delves. WANGANUI CLUB MATCHES The Wanganui Club will play the following rink games to-morrow afternoon:— Crawford’s rink meets Simmonds’ rink; Cohen meet McNiven. To-morrow morning at 9 o’clock on the Wanganui green, five rinks from the Waver!ey Club will play five from the Wanganui Club. The players to represent Wanganui are:— Halley. Milne, Meuli and Keesing; Harle, Green, Robertson and Bates; Norris, O’Meara, Price and Allames; Addenbrooke, Blyth, Shewan and McNiven; Morrison, Battle, Moynihan and Jackson. OHAKUNE AND RAETIHI VISIT Because of the numerous representative games played during the week and of the championships of the Wanganui Bowling Centre to be decided next week, it has been deemed advisable to postpone the visit to Ohakune and Raetihi for a fortnight. The new date for the visit is March 26. VISIT FROM HAWERA. The following members of the St. John’s dub are to play against Hawera on the St. John’s green at 9.30 a.m. morrow:—Holland, Kendrick, Rowling and Parkes; Olson. Tarrant. Willets and Green; Ormsby, Kilford, Beswick and Upton; Me,Naught, Bogle, Haywood and Coombe. NIXON CUP GAMES. Rinks for the Waflganui West Club will be selected from the following to play the Gonville Club in the Nixon Cup match at Wanganui West to-mor-row at 2 Howe, McGorrey, Wilson, Anderson, Melville, Anthony, Bates, Uttley, Copeland, Malt, Hammond, Lamont and Nicholas. TO REPRESENT GONVTLKE. Players to represent the Gonville Club against Wanganui West are:— Davies, Mailman, Healey and Fyffe; Gordon, Lake, McMurtrie and Laird; Smith, J. Healey, Brown and Jones. All other members of the club are requested to be on the green at 1.45 p.m. in order that five rinks be selected in meet Hawera.
