AN UNSUSPICIOUS SERPENT BRISBANE, March 7. A carpet snake killed by a motorist on the downs had a bulge indicating that it had recently swallowed something. The bulge was caused by a china egg, which had been used to encourage the inmates of a neighbouring hen-run and which had also deceived the snake.
