BOWLING BULLS DEFEAT HUNTERVILLE [ From the “ Chronicle's ” Special Correspondent. ] The return match in the Rangitikei Shield bowling competition between Huntervillo and Bulls was played at Bulls yesterday, and, by a strange coincidence, the result was the same as the first round match played in the Hunterville green, Bulls drawing Tn one rink, and winning by a single point in the other. The match was played in perfect weather, and the greens were fast amd true. A slight cross wind prevailed, but both teams quickly picked up the correct side required, and a strenuous, neck-and-neck contest resulted. Details of the games are as follows, Bulls players ben mentioned first:— Sehaab, E. Wilson. Archer, Caldow 23 v. McAlley, J. Wilson, Chisholm, Towers 23, Kidd, Farryr, Stevens, Drew 22 v. Petherick, Ber/-. Porter, Ansley 21; total: Bulls 45, Hunterville 44. A club game resulted as folows: — Price, Perrett, Afanscll, Ingram (Bulls) 19 boat Stevens, Lourie, Greenwood, W. Wilson 15. MANAWATU LICENSING COMMITTEE The quarterly meeting of the Manawatu Licensing Bench was held in Foxton vesterday. There were present: Afessrs J. L. Stout, S.M.. (chairman), J. K. Hornblow. J. E. Walker, J H. Perrett, R. Bryant and .T. Curran. The business for consideration was the application for a permanent trai-s--fer of the license of the Rangitikei Hotel at Sulls from H. J. D. AlcAfanaway to John Francis Flynn. Mr Afackay of Bulls, who appeared in support of the application, stated, that all the requirements of the Licensing Act had been complied with. Tho application was approved. “SWEET DADDIES’’ When\he cast for “Sweet Dadides*’ was being assembled, little trouble w-s experienced in choosing character actors and comedians; but when the time arrived for the selection of a leading lady, extreme difficulties confronted those responsible. The day was saved, however, when Jobyna Ralston was engaged for the role. “Sweet Daddies” screens next Saturday at the Bulls Town Hall.
