BIG HOUSE GUTTED

EAKLY MORNING BLAZE [ Per Press Association. ] GREYMOUTH, March 9. At about two o’clock this morning a fire broke out at the residence of Mr J. Hutton, director of the Greymouth Technical High School, situated'on the crown of Kasson’s Hill. The first intimation was given by the screams of two daughters of Mr. Hutton. There were eleven inmates, including six technical school boys. The house comprised ten rooms. Practically nothing was saved. Mr Hutton is a considerable loser. The house belonged to Edward Stratford, of Kokiri. No details of the insurance are available.
