CINEM AFOR STUDENTS AN INTERESTING CENSUS LONDON, March 8. The “Weekly Dispatch” presents a census taken in the public schools and colleges on the educational value of the cinema. It points out that majiy schools regard as inestimable the assistance given by the cinema in zoological geo graphical, scientific, and historic subjects. Harrow thinks that the cinema, though useful, minimises the efforts of learners and makes them passive. Repton, Charterhouse, and Malvern consider that the use of the cinema is limited. Shrewsbury, Oundle, Westminister, Clifton, and Merchant Taylor’s advocate that the cinema should be used with discretion. Rugby takes up a neutral attitude, and Marlborough ana Winchester oppose the cinema.
