AN INCREASE PROPOSED MB LANG’S NEW BILL Received March 7, 10.45 p.m. SYDNEY, March 7. The Hon. J. T. Lang has advised the Labour caucus that he proposes to introduce a Bill to increase tho basic wage from £4 4s a week to £4 Ils 6d. It is estimated that if the Bill passes, it will mean an addition to the State’s wages bill of £7,500,000 annually. INCREASE REFUSED A QUEENSLAND APPLICATION ARBITRATION COURT’S DECISION Received March 7, 9.15 p.m. BRISBANE. March 7. The Arbitration Court dismissed the application of the labour unions for an increase of 10s a week in the basic wage, which remains at £4 5s a week.
