In of the passenger liners which the Shaw, Savill and Albion Company decided to build, but afterwards cancelled the orders on account of the lowering of freight charges between New Zealand and England, the company has placed orders for four new motor cargo vessels—two with Messrs Swan and Hunter, of Newcastle, and two with the Fairfield Company, at Glasgow. They will be about the same dimensions and build. They j will have two sets of Sulzer engine? with twin screws. The length will be 481 ft. by a breadth lof 64ft.
