WOMAN IN TROUBLE
FINED FOR SHOP-LIFTING GAOL NEXT TIME, SAYS MAGISTRATE. (Per Press As-oclatTon.) CHRISTCHURCH, March 4. A widow appeared in the Magistrate’s Court to-day charged with shoplifting and having stolen goods to the value of £1 17s from the Farmers’ Coop. Stores. The Magistrate suppressed the name of the woman, who had no previous convictions, and imposed a fine of £2, in default 14 days imprisonment.
