MISSING

AN URUGUAYAN AIRMAN DISAPPEARS ON TRANS-ATLANTIC FLIGHT. Received March 4, 11.30 p.m. MADRID, March 4. The Uruguayan aviator, Major Borges, left Casablanch for Las Palmas, a flight of 600 miles, early on Wednesday. There has been no news of him since. Four wireless stations all night sent out calls to pick him up, but received no response. It is possible that he came down on a lonely part of the coast, with his wireless broken down. A French cruiser is searching and Spanish airmen at present in Morocco have offered to search the ocean. Major Borges is accompanied in the seaplane by his brother, a wireless operator, a spare pilot and a mechanic.
