ROYAL GOVERNORS
FOR THE DOMINIONS APPOINTMENTS v UNLIKELY. NOT ENOUGH TO GO ROUND. LONDON, Jan. 3. The question of Royal GovemorsGeneral has aroused great interest, but the Duke of York’s visit may not be regarded as in any way suggesting that such appointments might be made in the future, says the “Sun’s” political correspondent. On the contrary, it is pointed out that it is extremely unlikely that Royalties will be appointed, because sufficient are not available. The King’s heir obviously could not hold a post outside of England, and it is hardly possible that even tho Duke of York will be lengthily absent. Thus only two are available, and, assuming that both were able to accept, only two Domions could be covered. Difficulties might arise elsewhere if a Royal Governor were wanted and none was available. It is considered in well informed circles safe to say that there is no prospect of Royal Governors-General for many a day.
