NEGROES LYNCHED NEW YORK. Dec. 4. A gang of men dressed as cowboys, drove up in motors to a lonely log j cabin 25 miles .north from Houston, Texas. Three negroes and the wife of one of them, who lived in the cabin, were sitting round the stove. Answering cries of “Come out,” an old negro, aged 90. came to the door, and was driven away. When the’ next ' man responded lie was riddled with bullets and bludgeoned as he tried to flee. A man and wife remained inside the house which was set on fire and riddled with bullets as it burned. Negroes far and near, terrified by the shooting and the flames, fled to the woods.. Already this year 31 negroes have been lynched, against 25 last year.
