CHILD ENDOWMENT
MR. LANG IN TROUBLE PROPOSALS UNFAVOURABLY RECEIVED. “FOREIGN* TO LABOUR SENTIMENT.” SYDNEY, Dec. 30. An official statement issued by the Australian Workers’ Union says that Mr J. T. Lang’s child endowment scheme is contrary to the policy of the Labour Party, and is identical with the child endowment proposals of the National Party. It is foreign to Labour sentiment and iniquitous to the last degree. The statement concludes: ‘‘Labour’s own policy of motherhood endowment is virtually different to the scheme outlined by the Lang Government.”
