PICNIC TRAGEDY
THREE WOMEN DROWNED YOUTH LOSES LIFE IN ATTEMPTING RESCUE. OUT OF THEIR DEPTH. MELBOURNE, Dec. 28. While bathing in the River Murray, near Wentworth, a number of women : got out of their depth. Mrs R. Poole, aged 35, Nancy Me- 1 Bride, aged IG, and Rose Whitford, i aged 15, were drowned. James Buris, aged .15, in attempting ■ to rescue them, was also drowned.
