The ’collision was startlingly suddeiu The barque was struck amidships and sank in two minutes. The survivors jumped on to the deck Df the Burutu in the nick of time. The captain of the Burutu states that the Eugene Schneider showed no navigation lights. The vessels were interlocked until the barque filled and g&nk.
