HOLIDAY REVENUE A SLIGHT FALLING-OFF. During the Christmas holidays, tram and bus services in Wanganui werr well patronised by the public, although this year’s revenue shows a slight d crease on that for last year. Total figures for revenue deriv< from tramway and bus services for <’.• two periods are: — 1926. 1925 Tramways . £530 17 7 £599 13 7 Buses .. .. £ll5 1 10 £74 12 1" These figures show a decrease of £2 S 7s on last year’s revenue. Undoubtedly one causo of this was the unsettle ! weather experienced during the recon! holidays, and there were fewer passey gers than there would have been ha more equable weather prevailed. Ai no gala is now held at Castlecliff on Boxing Day, and Monday’s takings showed a decided decrease. Figures Day by Day. On Friday, £233 4s was taken on the trams, as against £234 19s last year, and on the buses £45 2s 2d, against £2l 17s 6d. Buses only were* in commission on Christmas Day, £lB 18s 5d being taken, against £l6 12s lid for the corresponding day last year. On Sunday £92 9s 5d was taken on the trams, compared with £lOO 7s 2d last year, and on the buses £22 6s 2d, against £l7 8s 4d. Afonday’s tram receipts totalled £205 4s 2d, against £264 7s sd, and bus receipts £2B 15s Id, against £lB 14s id.
BAD WEATHER CAUSES FALL IN REVENUE RETURNS FROM CHRISTCHURCH. (Per Prmi Allocation.) CHRISTCHURCH, Dec. 28. Tram receipts dropped • £329 in the period December 24 to 27, as compared with last year, the unfavourable weather affecting the traffic. Christmas Eve was slightly better than last year, but Boxing Day show ed a decrease of £3OB.
