MOTORIST’S DEATH TRAP MAN WHO WAS GIVEN A LIFT (Per Preea Aavoeiation.) PALMERSTON N., Dec. 24. At the coronial inquiry at Shannon regarding the death of Boy Victor z Bloomfield, the evidence showed that deceased asked the driver of the dar, Lavin, of Wellington, to give him a lift to Levin. j When on the main south road and j while endeavouring to avoid another •ear, Lavin’s car crept too close to the \sade of the road. The wheels skidded, Und despite the driver’s effort to re- < over the car, it overbalanced down a tWeep bank, Bloomfield being so severely injured that he died within a short til np.
1 Che verdict was that deceased was ace identally killed, nia blame being at tacihable to anyone.
A rider was added to the effect that the corner where the accident occurred was dangerous, and the Main Highways Board or County Council should take isteps to make it safer.
