INCREASE IN OUTPUT
BUT NOT THE COST ADVICE TO DOMINIONS BRITISH DAIRY PRODUCE MARKET LONDON, Sept. 3. The “Times” commenting on the report of the Imperial Economic Committee on the dairy industry says. “It is incumbent on various parts of the Empire immediately to take up the question of how best to ensure the future of the industry against the pressure of foreign countries, with low wages and a low standard of living. There is no escape from the committee’s conclusion that the Empire producer must discover and odopt more efficient and cheaper methods of production.” The “Financial Times” states: “While the Empire proportion of the dairying trade is good, it is capable of expansion. The problem is to increase the output without increasing the cost.”
