PLAY AT BROOKLINE SATURDAY’S MATCHES Received Sept. 5, 11.20 p.m. NEW YORK, Sept. 4. At Brookline, Williams and Richards retained the title, defeating Tilden and Chapin to-day 6—-4, 6—B, 11—9, 6—3. Misses Ryan and Wightman defeated Mrs Corbiere and Mrs Chapin in the doubles final this afternoon, 6 —l, 6—2. The latter pair had eliminated Mrs Mallory and Mrs Cole in the semi-final in the morning. 4—6, 6—o, 6—4.
