YOUNG WIFE HISSED
HUSBAND ACCUSED OF ATTEMPTED MURDER. LONDON, May 29. Women made a hostile demonstration against a young wife, Mrs Emma Jessie Fry, when her husband, William Fry, a stoker in the Navy, wtis, al Kingston yesterday, committed for trial at the assizes, accused of attempting to murder her. A number of women hissed Arrs Fry. Facing those in the gallery she said, “Now 1 hope you are satisfied.” The husband was greeted with cheers and hti nd clapping when he was taken from the court to the police station. Mrs Fry in her evidence said that her husband came home on week-end leave. They were very happy together. He came to her on the Monday morning, apparently to kiss her, put his arms round her neck and tried to strangle her. He then stabbed her in the neck with a brefad knife. The husband said that his wife kept talking about an Italian with whom she had been on friendly terms. When she mentioned the Italian he was in such a state that he did not know whtol <he was doing.
