MUNICIPAL PICTURES. “THE KING ON MAIN STREET.” “WILD HORSE MESA” ON MONDAY. Adolphe Menjou has two leading ladies in his latest Parfamount picture, “The King on Main Street.” They are Bessie Love and Greta Nissen. The i King is sent to America to negotiate a loan for his country. On the way he 1 renews the acquaintance of a beautiful I dtancer (Greta Nissen), but when she A ?ts too loving he marries her to his secretary. But in America it is a different tale and one you will enjoy. “The King on Main Street” will be screened at the Municipal pictures tonight and at the matinee this afternoon. On Monday “Wild Horse Mesa,” from the pen of the ever versatile Zane Grey, will be screened for la, short season. “Mild Horse Mesa” is a great action picture which will vividly typify that great Australian poem, “The Mau l-'roni Snowy River’\ written by the ever famous “Banjo” Patterson. One of the popular verses is very typical of the p’f’ture. As is the usual case u strong orchestral programme will also be contributed by the Paramount orchestra under Mr Geo. Holloway. THE GRAND. DOUBLE MATINEE TO-DAY. To-day and to-night will bo the final screenings of “As No Man has Loved.” The story of an impetuous young larmy officer exiled and doomed never to hear the words “homo” and “United Spates” is powerfully portrayed in “As No Man Has Loved,” based on the novel “The Man Witha Country.” This William Fox film version of Dr Edward Everett Hale’s immortal story is richly charged with love of country and brimful of thrills. Tremendous battle scenes between ships of the line and a huge pirate slaver, and la mighty storm off the Carolina Capes arc among the most sensational features ever recorded by the camera’s unerring eye. A largo and powerful cast headed by Edward Hearn as Lieutenant Nolian and Paulino Starke as Anno Bissell splendidly impersonate interesting characters. The supporting pictures include Fox’s World’s News and a very entertaining comedy. Seats for to-night should be secured early at Moore’s Sweet Shop opposite theatre.
