AUSTRALIAN TEAM TRAVELLING STILL DIFFICULT PLAYERS VERY TIRED LONDON. June 6. ‘‘Having a bad time now, but we will warm them up next Saturday,” was the comment of the Australians while the wickets were falling at Bradford. Nevertheless, the collapse was surprising. The wicket was good. There were no star bowlers. The Australians’ failure on successive days set the critics going. Discoveries of new bowlers are becoming common. Saturday’s bowling was well backed by keen fielding. The coal strike is causing travelling difficulties. The team spent five hours instead of three in getting to Bradford. The last nine miles were completed in a charabanc, thereby saving further time. The team did not retire to rest until one o’clock on Saturday morning. Stumps were drawn at 4 o’clock in order to allow the team to go to Sutherland. The players are well but traveltired.
