SHORT OF COAL
TASMANIA’S TRIALS WITHDRAWAL OF KAN NA STRIKING CREW PAID OFF HOBART, March 29. The crew of the steamer Kanna (which is held up by the watersiders over a dispute concerning the loading of zinc) has been paid off.
The withdrawal of the steamer fro_i the Sydney-Hobart trade is having a serious effect on fruit growers in the Hnon district and the timber industry. As the Kanna is the only regular collier taking coal to Hobart supplies are running low.
