PAKEHA HOCKEY CLUB. (From the "Chronicle’s” Special Correspondent.) The annual meeting of the Pakeha Hockey Club was held on Thursday, Mr L. J. Patrick occupying the chair. It was decided that the colours of the club be blue and black. The. following officers •were elected: —Patron, Dr Sinclair; president, Mr S. Fleet; vice-presidents, Messrs J. J. Ryan, A. J. Joblin, G. C. Armstrong, H. Dashwood, R. Cleaver, A. E. Patrick, W. Hounsell, P. E. Wakeman, H. Moore, C. Wray and F. W. Somerville; Captain, Mr L. J. Patrick; vice-captain, Mr F. H. Moffitt; secretary and treasurer. Mr F. 11. Moffitt; committee, Messrs E. Bartram, J. Dripps, E. Fleet and S. Fleet. The first practice will be held on April 8, at which all members and intending members are expected to attend. PERSONAL. Mr. Joseph Transom has returned to Taihape after spending a short holiday in Taranaki. Mr. and Mrs. Carpenter, of Wanganui, were visitors to Taihape over the week-end. The Plunket Nurse, Nurse W. Gray, is leaving for her annual holidays, and Nurse Bell will act temporarily. Mr. J. A. Anderson has returned from a visit to Tokaanu. GENERAL NEWS. During the past few days Dame Fortune has endowed the district with exceptionally fine ■weather. The tennis courts, bowling green and croquet lawns ami various playing areas have been well patronised. On Friday evening a dance was held in the Utiku Public Hall. A large crowd attended and the function was a great success. The proceeds will go to the Utiku school. CRICKET. COLTS v. MOAWHANGO. The Taihape Colts’ cricket team met Moawhango at Moawhango during the week-end. The day was one of the best experienced in the district this season. For the Colts C. Harding made 106, batting consistently. J. Sharp and Harding in partnership contributed over 50. The match was won by Colts by 57 runs. The following are the detailed scores:— Colts. E.
