AMUSEMENTS, MEETINGS, ETC.

For two such popular artists as Reginald Denny and Jackie Coogan to appear in a picture programme on the same night, is almost unprecedented, but through an error in booking this has come about and the picture public are getting the benefit of it. This programme commenced last night, and in. spite of the fact of big business having just been done with the Ambassadors ’ Band, the theatre was again bull with an enthusiastic audience, who went home thoroughly satisfied with the evening’s entertainment offered them. Reginald Denny iu “California Straight Ahead.” Kept the audience in convulsions for the full seven reels of his picture. His doings arc in connection with a “Honeymoon Express/’ with all the joys and pains attached thereto. Bright and bonny as ever, Jackie Coogan, appears in the MetroGoldwyn release, “The Ragman.” Where Jackie appears some fine entertainment is sure to follow, and this story of his partnership with an old Jew clothes dealer is as good as ever he has done. This programme shows again to-night and to-morrow, with a special “Ragman” matinee at 3.30.
