A.S.R.S. UNPLEASANTNESS SECRETARY EXPLAINS INJUNCTION [Per Press Association.] WELLINGTON, Alarch 12. Commenting on yesterday’s Auckland telegram regarding the A.S.R.S. secretaryship, Mr Alack, general secretary, said that an. injunction was not being sought by the branch, but by a member. It was not proposed that the position shall be open to pcnifaneijt members only. There are three issues before members to be decided by preferential voting: (1) That the position be open to all members of the society; (2) that, it be restricted to those members who have two years’ financial membership, dating back from, the date of nomination; (3) that it be confined to members of the permanent staff. If the third issue were eliminated those who lare not in favour of cither of the remaining issues would have to refrain from votng or make their votes informal. There is no violation of the Society’s rules, in fact, it is in accordance with the biennial conference, decision. The executive are merely consulting the membership on a question, of the utmost importance.
