WANGANUI v. PALMERSTON NORTH TO-DAY’S ENCOUNTER To-day, at the Wbnganui Club’s courts, Palmerston North will play Wanganui, the teams comprising six men and six ladies, and some good games should be enjoyed by the spectators. The Palmerston North team is headed by Andrews, who has been selected for the New Zealand team to visit Auslrtlia, and with Lampe and Powdrell now playing at the top of their form, some good games should eventuate. RAPANUI V MAKIRIKIRI Last Tuesday the Makirikiri Tennis Club journeyed to Rapanui and played the Rapanui Tennis Club. The weather was perfect and a cool south breeze fanned the enthusiastic players. Although the victory went to the home team, each game was keenly and evenly contested. The ladies of both clubs provided a delicious lunch and a dainty afternoon tea, and altogether a thoroughly happy time was spent.
