AN OVERDOSE
SICK MAN’S FATAL INJECTION. DEATH FROM ASPHYXIA. [Per Press Association] HASTINGS, Fob. 19. At the inquest on Maurice Patrick Malone, who died on January 16 from injection of an ointment containing morphia and belladonna, which should be used externally, the verdict was that deceased died of oedema of the lungs, consequent on axphyxia caused by morphine and belladonna poisoning, an overdose of the onitment containing these drugs having been inadvertently injected by deceased.
