GOLF CLUB. ANNUAL MEETING HELD. (From the “Chronicle’s” Special Correspondent.) The sixth annual meeting of the Raetihi Golf Club was held in Ashwell’s Hall on Friday. There w r as a large attendance of members. The balance-sheet showed assets £lOB 16s 2d and no liabilities, the profit on the year’s working being £25 4s 4d. There are no subscriptions in arrear, and there are 51 men and 27 lady members. The report and balance-sheet were ydopted. Resignations were received from Airs and Air Laloli and Alcssrs Burgess, Tonkin and AfcLeod, and were accepted with regret. A letter was received concerning the valuation of the Waimarino Racing Club’s ground, and also a letter from that club offering the property for £lBOO. The following now members were elected:—Dr. Marshall, D. G. Thompson, A. Osborn, Aliss Wilson and Airs Ironside. The following officers were elected for the incoming year:—President, Air P. C. Murray; vice-president, Air D. P. Scarfe; captain, Air J. J. Johnston; secretary, Air A. J. Windle; committee, Alessrs Davies, Feltham, Jennings, Ritchie, and Urwin; auditor, Air C. C. F. Honore; ladies’ captain, Airs Alurray. It was proposed that there he a ladies’ committee, but this was lost by the unanimous vote of the ladies present. The secretary was granted an honorarium of £l5 15s. It was resolved that the ladies bo all in one division for the purposes of competitions and that they choose their own partners for medal competitions, but be drawn for bogey competitions. It was resolved that, provided the necessary finance could bo arranged and sufficient support be forthcoming from Ohakune, the committee be instructed to enter into negotiations with the Waimarino Racing Club with regard to the purchase of land at Alakaranui. It was left to the committee to decide whether to play on the present links this season. Alessrs Johnston, Feltham and Glasgow were appointed to meet Ohakune players to discuss the proposed amalgamation and purchase of property, a general meeting to be called as soon as possible to receive their report. RAETIHI SCHOOL. Satisfaction is expressed in all quarters that the long overdue remodelling of the Raetihi School will be proceeded with immediately. For a long while the teachers have been working under great difficulty. In one case two teachers were teaching in the same room.
