FOOTBALL

RUGBY INTERNATIONAL IRELAND DEFEATS ENGLAND Received Feb. 14, 5.5 p.m. LONDON, Feb. 14. At Dublin, Ireland beat England by I 19 to 15. VISITS TO AUSTRALIA FOB 1926 ALL BLACKS. [Per Press Association] WELLINGTON, Feb. 14. During the coming Rugby football season, a New Zealand team will visit | New South Wales, while it is practically certain that a New Zealand native team to visit France will also plav matches in Australia. Mr W. W. Hill, of the Council of the New South Wales Rugby Union, . visited New Zealand recently and dis- • cussed with members of the N.Z.R.U. committee several matters affecting the game in New South Wales next season. He was also able to make a . very satisfactory report when he returned to Sydney. This was to the effect that New Zealand would send the very best team available and that the embargo which prevented members of - the 1924 team to Great Britain and , France from gaining places in last year’s team to Australia would be lifted. It was anticipated, therefore, that the New South Wales people would see some very fine football in the coming season. Indications pointed to the majority of members of the 1924 ]New Zealand team making the trip to New South Wales.
