PUBLIC TRUST OFFICERS
A TRAINING CLASS OPENED OPPORTUNITY FOR JUNIORS A class for the training of selected junior officers of the Public Trust Office has been started in Christchurch, and was officially opened this week by the district public trustee, Mr A. R.. Jordan. This class has been started owing to the increased business entrusted to the Public Trust Office, and it has been considered advisable to establish the class in order to ensure for the future adequate supply of thoroughly competent officers. The trainees have been selected from various branches in the Dominion. . . The class consists of 30 junior oftieers, and the course prescribed is of one year’s duration. It embraces the many phases of the work carried out by the department, and all relevant legal and accountancy subjects. At the termination of each course the trainees will be transferred to the different branches in accordance with staff requirements. The class is under direction of Mr Alexander Bell, formerly assistant district public trustee at Wellington, who is assisted by Messrs B. C. B. Dickson and K K. McManus, from the Invercargill and Auckland branches respectively. All of these three men have qualified as solicitors, Mr McManus being also an aecountant. , T In declaring the class open Mr Jordan welcomed the officers and trainees and urged them to make the fullest possible use of the splendid opportunity the Public Trust Office Board was affording them to acquire special knowledge in the work of administration ot estates.
