FEILDING FIXTURE OPENER SALE LACKING IN SPIRIT [”er Press Association.] FEILDING, Feb. 4. The annual Ram Fair opened to-day, over 2000 items, chiefly Romneys, being offered. Buyers are present from all parts of the Dominion, but the sale is proving the least spirited in the history of local fairs. Especially good Romneys are sought, but any showing less than superfine quality are passed by. The best price to-day for stud Romneys wtes 50 guineas for. a ram offered for Mr J. E. Hewitt (Wairarapa). Other figures received by the same vendor were 45 and 32 guineas. Mr H. A. Matthews’ rams went at 38 and 22 guineas. Mr R. Tanner received 30 and 22 guineas. Flock Romneys brought to 21 guineas, the vendor at this figure being Mr G. E. Allen (Masterton). Mr R. Planner’s lot brought up to 151 guineas.
