VERY HEAVY ENTRY. 1 IN AND OUT SALE. [Per Press Association.] CHRISTCHURCH, Feb. 3. Heavy entries were the rule at Addington. Fat lambs sold at practically schedule rates, fat sheep showed a decided drop, fat cattle were up to last week’s values for good steers, store lambs wore better by Is Gd to 2s per head, whilst breeding ewes and store wethers were easier by Is Gd. Altogether it was an in and out sale. Store Sheep.—A heavy entry, including ewes and wethers from the North Island, ewes from Marlborough, and general entries from the south and elsewhere. Adult sheep were easier, but lambs were better. Forward lambs 23s to 24s Gd, medium lambs 19s 9d to 22s 6d, small lambs 18s Gd to 19s Gd, superior lambs 14s to 17s 9d, cull lambs 13s to 15s 9d, fairly good four and sixtooth wethers 23s to 25s sd, two-tooth half-bred wethers 21s to 235, ordinary two-tooth halfbred wethers ISs to 21s 3d, superior two-tooth wethers 16s to 17s 9d, S.M. halfbred ewes 25s to 28s, good four-tooth crossbred ewes 29s to 31s, S.M. crossbred ewes 23s 6d to 25s Gd, superior crossbred ewes 13s Gd to 17s 6d.

Fat Lambs.—39oo were entered. Though the “go slow” at the work confined competition to fewer buyers, values were at the schedule rates. Extra prime lambs to 32s 7d, prime 27s 3d to 29s Gd, medium 25s Gd to 275, light 24s to 25s 3d, and light 21s Gd to 23s Gd. Fat Sheep.—A heavy entry of elevon races met a slow and dragging sale, with an easing up to 2s a heacl. Exporters bought• sparingly on account of the trouble which developed at the works in the morning. Extra prime wethers to 35s 10d, prime wethers 30s to 32s 9<l, medium wethers 27s 3d to 29s 9d, light wethers 23s 6d to 275, extra prime ewes 29s lOd to 30s 4d, prime ewes 24s Gd to 27s 6d, medium ewes 21s 3d to 245, lightewes 18s to 21s, old ewes 14s to 17s 6d.

I Fat Cattle.—s7s were penned. A brisk sale, with values very little different from last week for good beef. Extra prime medium weight beef to 42s per JOOlbs, good medium weight 37s to 40s, prime heavy 34s to 375, medium quality 30s to 335, heavy cow beef 27s ■to 2£s Gd, rough 22s Gd to 2Gs 6d, extra prime heavy weight steers £lB to £l9 | 7s, prime heavy steers £l6 to £l7 12s Gd, prime medium weight steers £.13 15s ■to £l5 15s, medium quality steers £ll to £l3 10s, light steers £9 2s Gd to £lO i 17s Gd, rough steers £8 to £9, extra i prime heifers £l2 to £l3 2s 6d, prime 'heifers £9 to £ll, ordinary heifers £6 ,5s to £8 15s, light heifers £3 17s 6d to I £6, extra prime cows to £l2 12s 6d, prime cows-£8 to £lO, medium cows £5 5s to £7 15s, light cows £3 15s to £5. Vealers wore a slight advance. Runners to £6 12s 6d, calves 20s to 60s. Store Cattle.—Thrcc-year steers to £6 17s, cows 15s to £3 15s, bulls £2 10s to £7 12s Gd.

. Dairy Cattle.—A small yarding and a good sale for cows and heifers near : the drop. Cows £6 to £l3 15s, heifers |£s to £l2 10s.

I Fat Pigs.—A slightly-weaker demand, i Choppers £2 10s to £5, baconers £3 12s to £5 10s, average per lb. 64d to 74d. Porkers 44s to 60s, average per ]b. 7d to 7§d. Store Pigs: A poor sale, values i being down by up to 2s per head. Weaners .10s Gd to 225, slips 23s to 265, stores 28s to 50s.
