Arrr.KT.AND SUPREME COURT A BOOKMAKER'S DENIAL [Per Press Association.] AUCKLAND, Feb. 3. At the Supreme Court, Walter Gibson Rae was charged with bookmaking at Takapuna races and was acquitted. A constable said be made bets with the accused, but the accused, in evidence, denied lie had even acted as a bookmaker. William McKenzie Brickley, charged with indecent assault on a girl aged eight, at Kohukohu, was acquitted, Justice Herdman directing the jury to return a verdict of not guilty in view of the unsatisfactory evidence. The Grand Jury returned no bill in the case of David Ernest Rickit, charged with making a false declaration of marriage. Victor Timothy Gill, charged with indecent exposure, was acquitted.
