PUBLIC Notice is hereby given that the Balance-sheet of the Wanganui City Council for the year on ling March 31, 1925, is exhibited at the Wanganui City Council Chambers, St. Hill Street, Wanganui, during office hours. Copies may be had on application. G. MURCH, Town Clerk. February 2, 1926. WANGANUI CITY COUNCIL. SPECIAL ORDER ACCEPTING SURRENDER AND GRANTING NEW LEASE. Notice is hereby given that at a Special Meeting of th(\ Wanganui City Council duly convened and held at the Council Chambers, St. Hill Street, Wanganui, on Tuesday, the 26th day of January, 1926, a Resolution (intended to operate as a Special Order) was duly passed, the purport of which is as follows:

TO accept surrenders of five leases of lands being parts of Blocks 21, 22, 26 and 29 Wanganui Town Belt and closed portion of Ingestre Street now vested in the Wanganui Jockey Club Incorporated and to grant to the said Club a new lease of the Lands comprised in four of such leases for the term of eight years from the Ist day of March 1926 at a yearly rental of £2OO containing (1) covenants and provisions for granting of renewals in perpetuity for successive periods of 21 years (2) special covenants and provisions for (a) tormina tion of the lease in the event of the said Club not using the adjoining Racecourse for racing purposes (b) restricting the erection of buildings other than those to be used for the Club’s own requirements for racing purposes (c) laying out a portion of the Oval on the Racecourse for outdoor sports providing of access thereto and erection of stands (d) the use of the oval and tracks and the ornamental grounds by the public except on specified occasions (e) permission to Council to erect apparatus for a children’s playground on the lea.? cd land and the use thereof by children except as specified (f) the control of the grounds and of persons using the grounds by the Club (3) Generally the same covenants mutatis mutandis as are contained in leases of the Wanganui Town Belt now granted by the Wanganui City Council and such other covenants conditions and provisions as arc contained in the present leases to oe surrendered as aforesaid as may be agreed upon by the parties or are authorised by the Act the form of the said new lease and the covenants and provisions therein to bo settled by the City Solicitor and the Club to pay all costs and charges incurred in the preparation and advertisement of the Special Order and in connection with the surrender ol the present leases and the preparation execution and completion of the said new lease. AND NOTICE IS HEREBY FURTHER GIVEN that the above Resolution will be submitted for confirmation at a meeting of the Council to be heid on Tuesday, the 23rd day of February, 1926. at 7.30 o’clock p.m. at the Council Chambers aforesaid.
