FEILDING SHOW

BIG INCREASE IN ENTRIES KEEN COMPETITION FIRST DAY’S RESULTS Wet weather prevailed yesterday for the opening day of the Feilding A and P. Association’s twenty-third Annual Show. In comparison with last year the entries in all departments have increased Appreciably. This was evidefat in the cattle division, there being an increase of 121 on last year’s totals. The popularity of the Feilding Show is indicated in the fact that exhibits were submitted from all parts of the Manawatu, Rangitikei land Wanganui districts. The judges were enthusiastic in regard to the quality of the exhibits. The grounds were well equipped with sideshows and trade exhibits, which were moderately patronised. The officials are to be complimented on the business-like way in which the show was conducted, the day’s programme being released item for item without a hitch. To-day is People’s Day and there will be a grand parade at 1.30 p.m., followed by a motor parade, and a polo match, besides other interesting field events for horsemen. A visitor to the show to-day will be the Hon. A. D. McLeod, Minister of Lands, who will arrive from Wellington this morning.
