A WONDERFUL DISPLAY AT H. I. JONES AND SON’S LTD DON'T NEGLECT A VISIT. \ What a joy for the kiddies is JT. T. Jones’ big toy department. Just listen to their squeals of delight and watch, their eyes grow big with excitement. Well, no wonder, for really this up-to-dato firm has excelled all other displays of past years, and one that could not find a present in this huge store to satisfy the most exacting would be very hard to please. There is no doubt that this old-established firm has got right out this season to cater for the requirements of their numerous customers and Xmas shoppers generally, and this impression is confirmed by a closer inspection. The windows aio filled to overflowing with everything possible to tempt the would-be purchaser to step inside, and the interior is decorated and laid out with gifts that will suit the baby of 12 months of ago to the grandfather of 112 years. Besides tho toy department, which of course is tho big draw for the young folk, there is the over-popular book section, and here wo find thousands of books for young and old, and special mention must be made of tho choic< leather and suede bound novels display* cd, together with wallets, shaving tidies, handbags, table centres, and many other useful and ornamental gift’. A. feature of the display is the magnificent showing of Xmas cards, and novelty presents; every year some new idea is presented to the shopper, a.id H. L Jones’ have certainly bought a wide selection of these novelties to suit the festive season. Every article is reasonably marked and it is the one store in town that you may find just tho one appropriate article that your friend requires, or for your holidays.

One wanders round the big shop and jots down quite a number of useful gifts, hero they are: For gentlemen: Tobacco jar, Gillette and Auto Strop razor, fountain pen, brief bag, suit case, pocket diary, wallet, letter case, dressing case, walking stick, cigarette case; For a lady: Hair brush, case of caka or tea knives, blouse case., dressing case, purses, handbags, kettle holder, photo, frames, books; For a girl: Girls’ Own Annual, Pip and Squeek, or tho many other well known annuals that the children love; For a boy: Cricket bat or ball, hobby horse, scooter, tricycle, mechanical train or boat, motor cars, and of couse The Boys’ Own Annual, or another suitable books. These are just suggestions and they can all be found in H. L Jones’ Big {Store, Victoria Avenue, at the most reasonable prices in the North Island.
