Attendance one year without absence— Jean Terangi, Grace Kenny, N. Edward. Special Sewing Prizes—Maisio Holland, Jean Terangi, Vida Hocking. Special I’rogress Prizes. —Eileen Murphy, S. Young, T. Broughton. OHAKEA SCHOOL. PICNIC AND PRIZE-GIVING. The Ohakea school held its annual picnic and prize-giving ceremony on Friday in Mr Masters’ pad dock, whore the children were regaled with a delicious afternoon tea. Mr Anderson, chairman of the School Committee, referred to the progress made at the school during the year and thanked all who had so ably assisted in the social functions. Miss Bailey presented the prizes as follows:—

For highest marks in final examination:—Standard VL, Alan Murray and Alexandra McNab. Care of all books during the year— Standard VI., Antony Pedersen and May Ellery (equal); Standard V., Ruth Green; Standard IV., Hoskin Tremain; Standard HI., Nora Ellery; Standard I and 11., Ken. Tremain; Primers, Marjorie Klatt and Mysic Anderson (.equal). Sewing.—Senior girls: Alexandra McNab 1, May Ellery 2. Junior girls: Marjorie Klatt 1, Thelma McDonald 2. Tiny tots: Joyce Pedersen. Proficiency Certificates: —Alexandra McNab, Alan Murray, May Ellery. Competency. —Antony Pedersen. Ten children gained certificates of attendance and of these three came a distance of four and a-half miles to school JACK COOGAN IN “OLIVER TWIST.” TOWN HALL, TO-MORROW NIGHT. In your time you may have seen pictures which you thought would never be equalled for sheer entertainment. You then had nut seen or heard of Jack Coogan in and as “Oliver Twist,’’ bj Charles Dickens. You will ever regret : if you miss it. All the gamut of life is i here, crime and virtue, ioul murder and the pathos of love, grim humour and innocent laughter.
