NEW CHAMPION ROCKY KANSAS WINS. LIGHTWEIGHT TITLE. BUFFALO, Dec. 7. The world lightweight championship was won by Rocky Kansas from Jimmy Goodrich, in fifteen fast, rounds, on points. The veteran challenger outscored the champion, winning his aim of 16 years to the cheers of 12.0’)0 people. Both claim Buffalo as their homo town. Kansas gained an advantage in the early rounds. Goodrich fought hard, but in vain, to regain the lead and retain the title, the bout ending as it began, with vicious blows, each striving tor a knockout. JOHNSON’S DEFEAT

GOING TO AUSTRALIA. LONDON, Dec. 8. I.en Johnson, the Manchester coloured middleweight, had been undefeated for a rear when ho was surprisingly inxiter. at The Ring, Blackfriars, last n’ght, by Jack Hood, in his last con test before beginning his Australian tour. Hood was the aggressor from the start. He shook Johnson with two left hooks in the sixth round. Johnson then improved, and the points were even until the 17th, when Hood scored with both hands to the head. Hood finished a narrow but popular winner.
