WANGANUI EAST CLUB There was a full green at Wanganui East, when a most enjoyable afternoon was spent. Before play commenced all members stood in silence for five minutes out of respect for the late Queen Alexandra. The following were the results of the (afternoon’s play:— Senior Shield. CENTRE MATCHES SENIOR AND WILLIS SHIELDS SATURDAY’S RESULTS The first of the season’s Centre matches were played on Saturday afternoon. The weather was fine, though a rather strong, gusty wind| with keen greens made it very difficult to judge the pace and green.' SENIOR SHIELD ST. JOHN’S v. GONVILLE A match for the Senior Shield was played between teams representing the ; above dubs, three teams at home and three away in each case. St. John’s j won the aggregate by 30, the totals bei ing St. John’s 141, Gonville 111. j The games at St. John’s resulted as j follows (Gonville being mentioned first •in each instance): — 3lcMurtie, Fraser, Tabart, Corby v.
