ROAD CHAMPIONSHIP. NORTH ISLAND TITLE. ■ WON BY GISBORNE RIDER. [Per Press Association.] GISBORNE, Nov. 12. The fifty miles North Island Professional Cycling Road Race Championship was held to-day. A head wind hampered the riders on the way out. There were 26 starters.
The winner of the championship was R. Dulman (Gisborne), whose time was 2hrs. 33min. 2 3 secs., with L. Roe (Christchurch) second, in 2hrs. 34min. 18secs., and D. Hepburn (Napier), third, in 2hrs. 39mins. 37 2-ssecs.
The handicap race was won by C. Buscke (Patutahi), whose handicap was 18mins. 45secs., W. Cochrane. 18mins. 45 sees., was second, and R. Chapman, off the same mark, third. Buscke won by four lengths, and his riding time was 2hrs. 45mins. 28 2-ssec.
